It started as a vision: that everyone deserves to feel truly seen — in the chair, on the team, and in the community we all share. That's the belief I founded Studio 16 with when I opened our doors in 2003: guests should feel welcomed, understood, and genuinely cared for. And the people behind the chair should love where they work. Over two decades later, that's still the philosophy that brings back our guests again and again. Every consultation starts with a question, not an assumption. Every stylist is here not because it's just another job, but to grow their expertise and skills as professionals. Every choice we make — from the products on our shelves to our training standard for our team — comes back to the same idea: beauty should feel good to receive and good to give. I, too, still love getting behind the chair. We choose products and practices that hold higher standards, and ensure every visit also contributes to making the world a little better. As a Green Circle certified salon, we've been certified Carbon Neutral and keep 95% of our beauty waste out of the landfill. Color tubes, foils, bottles, and even your hair are recycled or repurposed. To keep that promise to do better, we use and sell Oway products, an organic and waste-free biodynamic haircare line that's as good for the earth as it is for your hair. Our color program is built on AVEDA, 96% naturally derived and clinically proven, and the highest quality of color today, so you don't have to choose between beautiful results and ingredients you feel good about. This is not a marketing checkbox, but the same principle we apply to both our guests and our team: pay attention, choose thoughtfully, and leave things better than you found them.
